Enlightened Relationships

Dear Creators, have you noticed how hard it is to get along with each other? As if we had to remind you. Some souls seem to do just fine with family, friends and even business associates, but when it comes to an intimate partner, all bets are off.

Most enlightened souls we have encountered during our time with Earth have learned how to find peace in virtually every situation except with a mate. With a very close person, you tend to let down your barriers because you feel safe enough to do so. Therefore, anything that is unresolved within your own being will have permission to come out and be expressed.

In addition, many couples are drawn together precisely for the purpose of working out karmic issues they might have accrued during less than enlightening past lives. Even if you are evolved to the point where you no longer have any past karma, you will likely attract a partner who will mirror those aspects of yourselves that are not yet integrated. You might not have consciously chosen each other for this reason, but on another level your souls recognized the opportunity to grow and evolve more quickly by having your partner constantly mirror the areas where you still need work.

In some cases, such couples are able to attain a level of acceptance of each other that keeps the relationship together, but often they turn their judgments and unresolved emotional issues inward on themselves. The refrain goes something like this: “I do so well when I am by myself. I seem integrated, balanced and centered. Yet when I spend time with my partner, I am constantly being shown that I do not really have it all together. I am upset at myself for not being able to stay calm and centered around my partner.”

If such a soul were not in ego, there might be a great deal of gratitude toward both self and partner. After all, if it were not for the agreement of the couple to help each other heal these stubborn issues, they might go unhealed until such a time as the issues truly hindered the ascension process. A more enlightened refrain goes like this: “Thank God for my partner for showing me what I need to heal so I can get on with it. Otherwise, I might have deluded myself into thinking I had already integrated these issues.”
